Dave has served congregations and social ministry agencies for more than 30 years. He has extensive experience in planning, needs assessment, program development and implementation, grantsmanship, capital and program fundraising, and leadership training. He has guided the implementation of three church capital campaigns. He has served as a consultant with Penn Northeast Conference UCC working with congregations in transition.
Ordained a UCC pastor in 1979, he has led congregations in Bethlehem and Nazareth and also served as executive director of New Bethany Ministries in Bethlehem. A graduate of Princeton and Drew Seminaries, Dave currently serves as director of enrollment at Moravian Theological Seminary and is also adjunct faculty in pastoral theology at Moravian and Princeton Theological Seminaries. His research and doctoral work were in collaborative ministry between congregations particularly related to social outreach. Known across the Lehigh Valley in numerous social service and ministry circles, he has served as program planning and development consultant to housing programs in Monroe and Chester counties. He has created and implemented business plans for a parish health and nurse program, a volunteer grocery shopping service for housebound individuals, a shared housing program for paroled prisoners and a counseling center.
