Judy Belaires, CFRE, is a multifaceted fundraising professional with 17 years of experience in a wide area of fundraising responsibilities, management, and building fundraising departments. She has experience in donor relations, stewardship, annual giving societies, special events, grant writing, capital campaigns, as well as in branding, marketing and community/corporate relations.
Judy was responsible for expanding corporate sponsorship programs to support regional workforce initiatives and establishing a giving society to actively engage individuals of means during her time as Director of Philanthropy at the Da Vinci Science Center. She was also part of the original team to institute a Women in Science, Engineering and Math (WISE) Initiative in 2014. Judy’s strengths include: leadership and team building, adherence to donor bill of rights and ethical fundraising, networking and community relations, mentoring and strong attention to detail.
Judy recently retired from the Da Vinci Science Center, where she was part of the Da Vinci Science Center Philanthropy Department team for a total of 15 years. She was the Director of Philanthropy for 6 of those years. Judy was also the Vice President of Advancement for Communities in Schools of the Lehigh Valley from 2015 – 2016, where she was tasked with starting an official Advancement Department.
Judy is a Standards for Excellence® PA Licensed Consultant. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) since 2006 and was an AFP Board member for 8 years. She served as President of AFP Eastern PA Chapter in 2016-2017. Judy is Vice President of the Cedar Crest College Board of Associates and is a Board member of the Allentown Symphony Association where she also serves on the Development, Fundraising Ball, and Governance Committees. Judy is a graduate of Moravian College with a B.A. in Journalism and English and a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) since 2012.
