Lona Farr, Ph.D., ACFRE

Lona_2012Lona, founder of Farr Associates Consulting LLC (FAC), has more than 35 years of nonprofit management experience. She has been nationally recognized for her accomplishments in capital and annual campaigns, planned giving programs, volunteer management, public relations and marketing. Her legacy includes establishing FAC as a leader in the area of capital campaigns ranging from $400,000 to $50 million. She has helped organizations raise more than $425 million. Included in this total are five Kresge grants secured for clients since 2000.

Lona was one of the first 14 individuals in the United States to earn the designation Advanced Certified Fundraising Executive (ACFRE) and is the past chair of the ACFRE Certification Board. She holds a doctorate from Union Institute and Graduate School and a bachelor’s degree from Muhlenberg College.

A consultant for more than 20 years, she served in leadership positions at Muhlenberg College, DeSales University, Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital and Diakon/The Lutheran Home at Topton. She has been a member of the adjunct faculties of Moravian College, Alvernia College and Villanova University and is an Association of Fundraising Professionals master teacher. Lona has been designated a Faculty Star by the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).

Lona’s current volunteer activities include The Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, Allentown Symphony, Muhlenberg College and Wildlands Conservancy. She is a member of the Boards of Associates of the Lehigh Valley Health Network and Cedar Crest College.
